Welcome to drummer and composer Ahmad Compaoré's website...

Drummer, percussionist and rare improviser, Ahmad Compaoré confirms his singular talent alongside Fred Frith, Marc Ribot, Jamaaladeen Tacuma, Otomo Yoshihide or Barre Phillips... But also as a member of the trios Nafas and Oriental Fusion or as a duet with Egyptian dancer Karima Mansour. Based in Marseilles, he teaches drums and contemporary percussions at his studio La Boîte à Musique. Ahmad Compaoré currently prepares his new project as a leader, at the crossroads between afrobeat jazz and improvisation, not forgetting the traditional Rebel Music gigs/jam sessions which always hold in store their share of surprise guests...
