Jazz dinner-concert.

A musician of genuine encounters, Ahmad Compaoré invites us to discover another aspect of his musical world. Skilfully exploring various genres, the insatiable drummer has concocted a set dedicated to jazz, blues and afrobeat. For the occasion, he will be accompanied by bass player Sylvain Terminiello - his fellow musician from the trio NAFAS - and by saxophonist Fabien Genais (Méandres).

Musical encounter mixing afro-fusion, jazz and traditional music.

Laboratory of experimentation and creative citizenship, Le Point de Bascule proposes once again an atypical project. A strong leader of collective dynamism, drummer Ahmad Compaoré invites Malian balafon player Kaba Sanou in Marseilles for a musical journey through the African continent. They will be accompanied by guitarist Abdoulaye Kouyaté, Roman Gigoi on saxophone and his fellow musician Nicolas Oustiakine from Toulouse on bass. Three days of creation will lead to this unique concert on the theme of cultural crossroads with various origins (Mali, Guinea, Burkina Faso).

Synopsis: Sister Edwige, Sister Charlotte and Sister Thérèse come from Ivory Coast. They arrived in Marseilles to run the religious life of the city's Northern area, at L'Estaque and the nearby working-class neighbourhoods. In a surprising twist of history, a strange turnaround, they now fulfil the task carried out by the missionary sisters of their African childhood. And the mission is not easy, as what they gladly name "motherland" is far from being the Eden they imagined.

The AHMAD COMPAORÉ TRIO travels through the history of music, moving with an incredible skill from blues to rock, hip-hop to funk, jazz to electro. The musicians take over various genres, updating them in order to elaborate a mind-blowing sound ping-pong where the dazzling riffs of the strings meet the tribal beats of the drums, sustained by a hypnotic hardcore bass. Mixing wildness and psychedelia, the encounter between three music fanatics, outstanding improvisers in constant motion.
