LUCKY PETERSON @ Saint-Brieuc (16/03/2018) 20:30

Blues concert "Tribute to Jimmy Smith".

As a tribute to the great organist Jimmy Smith, Lucky Peterson comes back to his first instrument (which he learnt since the age of 5 with Jimmy Smith himself as a teacher!) and plays the Hammond B-3 organ in his new project: a jazz with soul and blues overtones. Music that grooves and could be called "jazz'n'blues," as in the old days of the vinyls of Blue Note. Lucky Peterson surrounded himself with virtuoso partners: the prodigy guitarist Kelyn Crapp from San Francisco, the New-Orleans drummer Herlin Riley (who plays with Wynton Marsalis and Ahmad Jamal) and the remarkable French trumpet player Nicolas Folmer.

Lucky Peterson: Hammond organ, vocals
Kelyn Crapp: guitar
Nicolas Folmer: trumpet
Ahmad Compaoré: drums
