Lookin' out

Created in April 2014 at the Jazz à Ouaga* festival (Burkina Faso) on the initiative of drummer Ahmad Compaoré, LOOKIN' OUT travels through the history of music, moving with great skill from jazz to punk, from rock to noise music, from funk to blues. The trio takes over various genres while updating them to elaborate a sound ping-pong where rather furious guitar riffs meet the earth-shattering strikes of the drums, sustained by a hardcore bass.

The multiplicity of repertoires produces a singular space of electric and acoustic sounds revisiting almost every style, from oriental music to improvisation. With consummate mastery, LOOKIN' OUT explores the legacy of Fred Frith, Frank Zappa and Jimi Hendrix. Between rage and psychedelia, the encounter of three music fanatics, outstanding improvisers in constant motion.
